Geographic location

Around the village of Gertwiller, our vines of Auxerrois are exposed southeast, at the bottom of the Saint-Odile Mount, between 215 and 315 meters (700 and 1000 ft) high. The soil, limestone and clay, gives a magnificence to the grape.The average is 25 years old.

Description of the wine

Shiny, limpid with pale green reflections, it is an easy and crunchy wine with fresh peer and jasmine notes. Expressive in the mouth, rich, with a beautiful structure. To enjoy now, with simple dishes.

Description of the wine

Light green robe with yellow hints, limpind and shiny. The bouquet is pleasant, with a nice balance, fresh, expressive and slightly aromatic. Acid, fruity notes (green apple, lime, kiwi) and floral notes. In the louth is it a nice dry Riesling, well structured. Long stay, generous and good salinity. Fresh in the end. Wine to drink now and to keep up to 12 years.

Geographic location

“Terroir” located for the most part of it on the hill of Heiligenstein, at the bottom of the Saint-Odile mount.  Its substrate is formed by limestone, associated with clay, to give a heavy soil that match perfectly with the Pinot Gris. The average age of the vines is 20 years.

Description of the wine

Pinkish robe, shiny and limpid. Fine and fruity nose, with peaches, blackcurrant and rhubarb notes. In the mouth it feels refreshing with wild strawberry aromas. There is a nice balance between sugar and acidity.

Perfect as aperitive, with grilled fish, salads, Provencal cuisine or just to enjoy for itself in summer.

PINOT GRIS RESERVE PARTICULIERE 2019 ZEYSSOLFF

Geographic location

The grapes are mainly selected from sloping vines surrounding the village of Heiligenstein, below Mount St. Odile. Average age of the vines is 20 years. The substrate is a combination of limestone and clay, resulting in relatively heavy soil, particularly good for the Pinot Gris grape.

Description of the wine

Bright robe, limpid, yellow/green. The bouquet is fine and subtle unveiling fresh peer notes. Crunchy on the palate, it is ample with a good lenght. Delicate balance between the sugar and acidity.

It matches perfectly with shellfish, fish, white meat, fish and meat carpaccio and all type of cold buffets.

KLEVENER DE HEILIGENSTEIN

Geographic location

The area of production of the Klevener de Heiligenstein covers 80 ha (200 acres), but only 15-20 hectares (37-49 acres) are planted in Savagnin rose (pink Savagnin), 8th Alsatian grape that is only allowed to be produce around  Heiligenstein and the neighboring villages. It is a non-aromatic selection of the Traminer. It looks a lot like the Gewurztraminer, but the grapes are heavier and more spaced. The production charter is ruled by pre-established qualitative criterions, allowing to optimize at best the expression of this grape variety. Between 200 and 325 meters high, this “terroir” is orient in a soft slope, down the village of Heiligenstein, on rich clayey-silty soil.  The soils are deep and away from droughts in low rainfall year, that allow the roots of the vines to explore them, seeking for trace element, that gives complexity to the produced wines.

Description of the wine

Pale yellow robe, shiny and clear. Expressive nose with exotic and spicy notes. Full and round in the mouth. Nice lenght Spicy notes, subtle aromas of stone fruits. Silky and elegant wine. The fineness of this wine matches very well with terrines, white meats, our Alsatian “tarte flambée” and fishes with creamy sauce.

GEWURZTRAMINER Réserve Particulière

Geographic location

One of the specialties of our village. The Gewurztraminer comes from 20 years old vines and more, and it likes heavy soils, formed for the most part of them of clay and limestone.

Description of the wine

Most aromatic Alsatian grape,  the Gewurztraminer is distinctive by its floral (jasmine, rose) and exotic fruit notes. In the mouth, it fills the palate: dense, rich and balanced with some residual sugars. To drink with exotic cuisine, strong cheeses, desserts or by itself as an aperitive to enjoy the wine.

PINOT NOIR Réserve Particulière
ZEYSSOLFF 2018 (9€ the bottle of 75cl)

Geographic location

From our vines in Gertwiller and Heiligenstein. This Pinot Noir comes from 100% destemmend grapes and a maceration of 7-8 days. The aging is done after the malolactic fermention, and then the bottling is realised between May and July of the next year.

Description of the wine

Nice redcurrent colour, light and shiny. Pleasant bouquet, with nice red fruit notes: raspberry, morello cherry. In the mouth, it’s a classic Pinot Noir, light and round, with slight tannins. To drink now or to keep up to 8 years. To drink with terrines with some raw vegetables, white meats, grilled fishes and barbecues.
